Slept well but too late, so it was rush getting off to pick Sam at the station and on our way to the Losehill Hotel at Hope we were late getting there so really needed a chill It was so hard when you are driving and can’t ask questions to the navigators without stopping and writing in iPad at convenient places .
When we got there it was such a beautiful setting in the midst of a valley with lush green meadows miles from anywhere. The masseur was waiting for us when we arrived . My masseur was really understanding of my condition and innovative about massaging me without lying flat. I was very impressed with her understanding and not letting the silence become awkward but not chatting away either. It was very relaxing and comforting as she put warm stones on my feet, brining my cold feet back to life.
We then went to the hot tub outside looking at the wonderful views of the dales and sheep, it was a real pleasure, indulging in the hot water with a slight gentle breeze tickling my skin as we looked at the dales and listened to the sheep bleating in the distance. After a sauna which heated my wasted muscles up and then a cool swim we went to rest in specious room. Sam and I we left Joe to sleep and we went into Hope to look around the small village and the deli shops
In the evening we dressed for dinner, and sat in the lounge choosing our meal as the boys ate canapés , the waiter was a bit ignorant though as he asked the boys of my meal was ok for me instead of asking me ! Why do people think if you can’t talk that you are stupid ? We did laugh as they ordered sole, but the waiter said we had “no sole(soul)”. I had forewarned the chef about my problem and the chef was very creative wi my limitations and produced for me a wonderful meal. The first course was two teaspoons of goat’s cheese with splashes of beetroot and mango juice, presented so well my digestive juices were going mad !
That was followed by lightly poached salmon and creamy potatoes with pea jus. To follow we had chocolate pudding so I ate the soft middle with butterscotch ice cream and vanilla mousse. It was a wonderful meal and such a joy to eat out with my boys as they chattered together. The only problem is that the table was too large so they couldn’t read my iPad without passing it to and fro. . The boys had a fabulous meal though with all locally sourced ingredients.
I think it was a successful day , I was pleased about being able to drive there, two hours driving with no consequences. Another day worth living, as we all slept in a bed which was like lying in a cloud. The only thing that was a problem was the clock fingers sped around the dial too quickly , we should have booked in for two nights.
