Waking up in my own wonderful bed with Karma at my feet , sometimes hunting my feet !!!
Lie in with Radio 4 , dozing , waking going back to sleep ,planning the day with Ruth and future trips while dunking biscuits to get a taste of my morning coffee
A few chores with help from Ruth, learning to accept help as energy levels so low then into the Northern quarter of town. Visited the three storeys of stairs of Afleck’s palace , reminiscing of the days of searching for original clothes , indie music and coffee after a good night out in Cafe Pop . Needed to sit so went to get Lunch at the Buddhist centre , broccoli soup sticks to my mouth and orange juice with too many bits it’s in. If you want to buy second hand books of contemporary classics I recommend the book store at the Buddhist centre cheap and good books !!
Ambled around the craft centre interactive art was going on in an exhibition of the written word .. what is your favourite word? My favourite word is quintessential – the essence of something. Cottage gardens are quintessentially English , ‘Sailing by is quintessential of Radio 4 … my lullaby.
Went upstairs to see our Dave Goodwin’s latest artwork , he offered a afternoon painting with him oils. His painting reflects so much beautiful light in turquoises, blues topaz, ultramarine and pistachio green , abstracts of sea and land , soothing , calm. We were able to conserve as he is slightly deaf and I can’t speak so the IPad was useful to us both.
Hurried to the car , late and traffic warden buzzing around the street. tripped up twice but didn’t fall, hurrying and tired is not a good combination. Ruth went ahead and saved the day and zipped in before we got fined. Home, exhausted so Ruth made tea and I had a bath with lavender oil and olive soap from Marseille, I felt like a dancer from one of the Degas paintings !
After tea Louise came to take us down to the Cornerhouse to watch ‘Francis Ha’ , a bright beautifully directed , black and white contemporary film very superficial but lacked a story . I yawned and I yawned and I yawned not because of boredom just tiredness . I have started this excessive yawning which really huts my jaw and ears, my mouth goes too wide and when I start I can’t seem to stop. It’s embarrassing and noisy too but in the darkness I could hide in the shadows when people stare!!!
This was pleasant day , many delights and a day worth living as I climbed the stairs to bed.
